How do I know when to repair vs. replace my roof?
There is a lot to unpack here but the four top reasons are the following:
- The extent of the repair, you may save money on materials but pay more on labor if it's a repair throughout the entire roof because it is more tedious.
- Are your shingles still available? Not just the color and brand but the technology meaning the width, length, exposure, thickness and application are the same and compatible with your current shingles.
- Age and condition of the shingles, sometimes when a roof hits a certain age the shingles become very brittle and break.
- The workmanship of the previous install, if the previous installer didn’t install the roof properly then we would not want to take responsibility because oftentimes, the finger gets pointed to the last person who touches the roof.
Will you inspect my home’s interior for roof issues as well as the exterior?
We prefer to poke our head in the attic, take a temperature along with looking for any areas of concern when doing a roof inspection.
Should I get multiple quotes for my roof repairs?
It depends on your personal situation, your intuition on the consultant you are meeting with and what your ultimate goal is. A roof can not properly be repaired if the shingles are a different technology, not only the brand and color need to match but the size, thickness and application of the shingles need to be compatible.
